After studies in Philosophy and Management Science, a short career in urban planning
André Schreuders works since 2001 as a film director, scriptwriter, cameraman and editor of poetic and philosophical documentary and fiction films. Furthermore with his company AS Film he works as a producer of low budget productions. Besides this he works on a book about the philosophical texts of Daniil Kharms.
His films are very different in style and subject, but they all come from the same vision on art and on life: The surprise about reality as a starting point, the poetic view on reality as a way of understanding and the imperfection as highest grade of perfection in art and life.
Amongst his works are the prize winning essay film Manifesto for a Free Fall and the short fiction Licht that was selected at the Cannes Festival Quinzaine des Réalisateurs.
